    Default Gas valve

Trying to get some information regarding acceptable natural gas valves used at appliances. The attached photo shows the valve in question. House was built in 1963 addition in 1969, the valve is at a ventless fireplace in a game room addition.

Since you've had no intelligent response so far, I'll say this - one twist of that valve will make it unacceptable. It's bound to leak. Just the suspicion that it could leak is enough to call for replacement.
