roof felt touching water heater vent pipe
I see this frequently in attics- the gas appliance vent pipe has proper clearance from the trusses and sheathing but the roof felt paper is touching the vent pipe. Do you call this?

Re: roof felt touching water heater vent pipe
Ever try to set that stuff on fire? Or accidentally set it on fire ... yeah, they catch on fire and are thus combustible material ... and need to be called out.
Laziness on the roofer's part is not an excuse for doing/not doing something, although laziness on the roofer's part could allow/cause the house to burn down.
! inch clearance minimum is typical for double wall Type B gas vents, and 6 inches for single wall gas vents.

why would you not call it out?
Keep the fire in the fireplace.
