Thread: Blower inside fireplace

I don't think I've ever seen a blower motor actually inside the wood burning fireplace before today. Are there manufacturer's that allow this? I would think that it would get too hot and melt the wiring, but it was still working. I don't know how much they ever used it.

I've seen that type of install on a number of fireplaces, especially with that door enclosure color. There has been some variation between the installs but essentially same concept. Always on old guy house. I've wondered if this set up was featured in some old issue of popular mechanics when those guys were younger.
I usually explain the potential problems to the buyer and they tend to say something along the lines of 'oh my, we don't want to use that'
