    Default Is this a vent-free

This gas log set was too bg for the fireplace causing the front burner to cook the paint off the front of the draft hood. There were no tags or manuals, so I was wondering if someone can tell if this is a vent-free by looking at the burner?

Cool Re: Is this a vent-free

Yep, that's an ODS pilot. If there is no rating plate, it should be removed. Even if it is VF, you need to ascertain if that fireplace allows VF logs. If that fireplace is not listed for use with VF, it should be removed for a Level III inspection.

    Get a pro in there.

Keep the fire in the fireplace.

Thanks Bob, that confirms what I was thinking. I was hoping to catch you as I am working late on reports.
