    Default unusual find

Looking up the ash cleanout door the picture shows what appears to be creosote on the underside of the fireplace inside the ash chamber.

No burnt wood was found at the bottom of the chamber Only clean ashes.

Boiler is beside cleanout door and combustion air may be inadquate. also air handlers in same room with unsealed filters.

    What do you think.?

There appears to be soot or creosote staining on the bricks as well. There was a fire in the ash pit a while back.
