Prefab Fireplace Clearances
What are the required clearances from this prefab Majestic M28 fireplace with gas logs to combustibles? I am especially interested in the clearances to the side and above the fireplace.

Re: Prefab Fireplace Clearances
Bruce, I don't have answer to your question. But I'll raise another one. Does the firebox have vent louvers that are covered up?

Not to my knowledge.

Re: Prefab Fireplace Clearances
You need the listed installation instructions that came with this Fp. That will state the clearances. Even if this model is still in current production, you would need the manual that applies to this model Fp based upon when it was built. Majestic's Technical Services leaves a lot to be desired but you may luck out and get what you need from them.

Never try to apply general stds. to factory built Fps. There are some units out there with radically different clearances from "the norm".

Eric raises a great point: if there are louvers as for a circulating fireplace, these cannot be blocked. Also, how did they treat the spark strip and gap to the floor? I don't see any Micore or similar insulating board under that stone hearth extension.
