Re: This is what you call fire power!
Why would that man be putting his fingures anywhere near the chamber after firing that many rounds.
I had, lets say, the oportunity to fire an early model electric mini gun. Lets just say that you would not want to be anywhere in the frontward dirction of that gun. Brick or block walls gets eaten through in seconds. There is no hiding from it.

Re: This is what you call fire power!
JP: Old gun, been around since 1957. They are very heavy, especially with the spare barrel and 800 or 900 rounds of ammo. They were assigned to "crews" of two or three people because of the weight factor. I carried one for three years. Most of the time the other two guys were assigned elsewhere, leaving me with the whole damned mess. They must have improved the barrels since then. I would never put more than 300 or 400 rounds out before changing barrels.
Only in the movies would you shoot this thing without it resting on the bipod or tripod.

Re: This is what you call fire power!
If you watched the video you will see that is a new version of the old gun, not the old gun.
It's like saying the newer Ford Mustang is the same car as the old Ford Mustang. Not.
They must have improved the barrels since then. I would never put more than 300 or 400 rounds out before changing barrels.

Re: This is what you call fire power!
JP: Sorry, did not watch the video. The manual called - at the time, back in the Stone Age - for replacing the barrel every bandolier or 100 rounds. If you even thought about shooting more than a about twice that it would warp the barrel. Then you'd be down to one barrel and really screwed.
