From the Houston Chronicle "A Realtors View"
Another genius realtor giving advice on home inspectors in the Sunday 03/21/2010 Houston Chronicle:
Questions to ask
"What is your fee"
"What will he home inspection include"
"How long will the inspection take and can I attend" (be wary of an inspector who doesnt want you around).
"What type of training do you have and licenses do you hold"
"Will you provide a written inspection report"
"How do you inspect the roof"
"Will you provide a list of references"
"If repairs are made based on your initial inspection, is there an aditional fee to have you reinspect that the house"
"watch out for any inspector who finds a plumbing problem and immediately tells you that hes a licensed plumber".
Dont you love these pearls of wisdom?

IJS smart a__comments in parentheses.
"What is your fee" IJS - (not as high as your agents)
"What will he home inspection include" IJS - (everything)
"How long will the inspection take and can I attend" (be wary of an inspector who doesnt want you around). IJS (length of inspection is directly proportional to you tagging along and asking silly questions)
"What type of training do you have and licenses do you hold" IJS (I dont hold a license, makes it hard to write my report)
"Will you provide a written inspection report" IJS (duh, its a TREC SOP requirement)
"How do you inspect the roof" IJS (carefully)
"Will you provide a list of references" IJS (do you only want the good ones or do you want the ones that tried to sue me?)
