Okie in the nations capitol
Well, I'am in Washington DC for the first time and so far I'am very impressed. It's alot like a theme park, Been on a tour of the major sites, and the people are nicer than I expected. Going to be here for 4 more days and got alot more to see. Any good places to eat form anyone? Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Okie in the nations capitol
I was in D.C. in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. Then I cried when the National Anthem was played. Then I began to study history. Now I want to puke when I hear the National Anthem. They have taken our America away from us.

I once did business with a niece of the woman who had owned the Hope Diamond. She was living large around a golf course. She spent five grand with me, enough for me to make a mortgage payment. She is a hero in my book.

And Tony, you can spend five days in the Smithsonian and still not see it all.

Phillip,
That would have had to be the niece of Evalyn McLean who was the last owner of the Hope Diamond before it was purchased by Harry Winston who latter donated the diamond to the Smithsonian.
Having family in the diamond business, I know a bit of its history.

I would do the A&S museums - both of them.
National Air and Space Museum National Mall Building
National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
But that's just me.
