My 20 year-old son dragged me to the Newport Folk Festival this year. Not quite Steppenwolf (and I'm a child of the 70's), but some old classics were there (The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Doc Watson, etc.) but I "discovered" some great new groups. There are links to the music on the lower left of the page. Check out April Smith (speaking of colors, her song "Colors" is great), Edward Sharpe and Preservation Hall. Pokey LaFarge is fun, too.
It was a great time. I can't wait until next year.
