Some agents are not happy about using an inspector they did not pick

    It's called control.

And asks for a discount; after all, she is a realtor!

I had an agent from a larger company call. She told me she had clients come in to buy a house and wanted an inspection. All they had was my business name. Since I, "Wasn't one of Our Guys", she wanted to know if I had done any work with other L&F agents in the area. I called her back with a list of several who were the buyer's agent but I wasn't a agent referral. The client had independently chosen my services. I never heard another word. I'm sure one of "Our Guys" ended up with the inspection.

But Ted, I too have started getting calls from agents. One just had me inspect a house for a family member. I don't pander to agents or real estate offices so it is all a little strange to me.

The above statements are expressed solely as my opinion and in all probability will conflict with someone else's.

Did an inspection a year or two ago for a buyer that was referred by a friend who I had done an inspection for. The buyer's agent was there and saw me getting the buyer to sign my contract........

Agent says, "Her 'inspector' never gets a contract signed....". My reply was that he probably doesn't have E&O insurance, otherwise he'd(and the buyer) would want to be covered by his insurance company.

Several weeks later I inspected a house for the daughter of the agent. She appeared happy with the inspection, but I have never heard from her again.....

I've done a number of inspections for agents who don't seem to use me on a regular basis, but who have used me for family members. I also know one or two agents who have used me for an inspection first for a family member and now as a referral to their clients.
