Default Face to face in the crawl space

I saw pine straw and leaves as I was heading around the corner under the front door. When I turned the corner I shined my light to my right and these little buggers were about 8" from me.
I don't what kind of eyes I see in a crawl space, it always scares the crap out of me.
After taking this pic and looking a little closer, mama started to stir around a bit, so I left them as quickly as I found them.

    Kevin,

Judging by the date stamp on the pic (06/10/2005) it took you two years to settle your nerves enough to talk about this incident. I hope you don't run into any snakes in a crawlspace.

Those mama opossum's can get really ugly with you if she has some babies.

I seen one maybe 15 years ago under a house, and when I saw those red eyes it definately gets your attention.

They will actually charge towards you making a really strange hissing noise.

I got the message and cleared out of the way.

    Bruce,

That's my spare camera, I need to change the date on it I suppose. Good observation though.

Badger? I don't think we have those here, it was definitely opossums.
