How much you paying him???? Think I can borrow him for awhile? I have a few tight places that I can't quite get to.

Re: new helper
Wes, I have never gotten a Realtor to go into a crawlspace with me. How were able to get one to accompany you?

Re: new helper
Eeesh!!! That picture gives me the creeps. I'm lucky that here in Oregon snakes are pretty rare, or at least harmful ones are rare.

Re: new helper
Benefits of slab foundation:
No snakes under the house.
No raccoons under the house.
No critters under the house.
No 'indoor pool' under the house.

Wes,
You're doing all the good.
An agent willing to enter the crawl and plastic down are a rare commodity around here.

Re: new helper
They give me the creeps eveytime I see them.
Jerry,
About your list......with a slab house, the critters are in there with you, and the water?...........well, I guess soggy carpet is better than a muddy crawlspace.

Re: new helper
*IF* (and it should be) the slab floor level is the same as the crawlspace floor level, the only way to get soggy carpet in the slab house is to be flooded to a depth which would also get the crawlspace house carpet soggy.
It's called BFE (Base Flood Elevation) and DFE (Design Flood Elevation) - FEMA sets the BFE and your local government sets the DFE as much higher than BFE as they want you to have additional protection (which is as a high as they can get the builders to agree to, as builders typically have a large lobby with politicians).
