Old Friends
Yesterday I got to thinking of my old hang out buddies from 30 years ago.
There were four of us; Ray, Rick (me), Robert., and Robert.
So I decided to look them up and give them a call.
Ray now lives in California.
He told me his brother Brian died about a year ago. I also knew, and was friends with Brian.
Just talked with one of the Roberts.
He said his son died about 3 1/2 years ago.
The other Robert is well.
Saddens me to think we were once close friends, now gone our different ways and rarely talk to one another.

Yes, it is sad, Rick.
Some of us are getting to a certain age.

Re: Old Friends
I'd be tickled pink to hear for an old friend. But it seems that most people keep their past behind them. Kinda hard to find friends who are good at keeping in touch.

Re: Old Friends
Visited with an ol' Navy buddy. I still saw him in my minds eye as a young man when I heard him talk. We were both a little more "mature" It was awesome to see him, even if was only for an afternoon. Cannot believe 38 years have passed! But it was still cool. Making plans to get together this summer!

I found a photo of the 4 of us taken in 1985-86
Left rear Ray
Right rear Rick (me)
Front left Robert
Front right Robert
I made copies and gave 1 to each
Today we had lunch together (except Ray, he lives in California)
