Default An Evening at the Movies with Our Son..........

My wife and I took our 4.5 year old son Sam to the movies and saw "Horton Hears a Who".

    Movie tickets - $27
Twizzlers, small bluberry Icee, and small popcorn - $14.25
An afternoon at the movies with your son................$41.25.

If you were expecting me to say "priceless", forget it. $41 f------- dollars for an 88 minute kids movie? What a racket!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything is nuts today. You can not even walk out of the house without dropping a $100. My wife and I have stopped going out to dinner. The money we spent a month would pay a mortgage or two car payments.
I am thinking of cashing out and go live in a log cabin on a mountain top somewhere.

For all you football fans out there:

(World Champ) Giants & Jets are building a new stadium together. This year price for NICE seat to a game is over $100.00 per. A new parking permit will cost $20.00 a game.

When the stadium opens, I'm sure they will hit all season ticket holders with a 'licensing fee' (talk is about $2500.00).

Normal people can't afford to live anymore.

When my wife and I head out for an evening by ourselves, we get a girl who works at Sam's daycare school to come over and stay with him. She drives herself, knows CPR, and Sam likes her. We leave money so they can order some pizza for dinner. Her rate is $10 p/hour which is fair enough. Especially considering the fact that watching our son is an easy gig. Sam will go to bed two hours after she gets there and she watches TV the rest of the night. Last month, we get a letter in the mail from her stating that she is raising her hourly rate to $15 p/hour AND she now requires a 5 hour minimum. Hhhhmmmm........$15 p/hr x 5 hours = $75. Thank you, no. Considering we don't spend that much on ourselves sometimes when we go out, we opted to stay in for a while and think about other options for a sitter when the time comes.

After a month or so, we get another letter from the babysitter stating she has lowered her hourly rate back to $10 p/hour and she included a multitude of dates on which she is free to sit. We can only assume her testing of the free enterprise system was not a success.
