Trying this again
Anybody know if it's possible to go directly to the end of a thread? Some of these longer topics are a PIA to scroll through to see whatever new stuff has been posted.

While we're at it.....
Is anyone else having trouble opening up these longer threads? I cringe when there are more than say 20 or 30 posts, because it takes 30 seconds or more to load.

Re: Trying this again
You can also go into your options and change the thread display to "newest first" or something like that, so the most recent posting is at the top.

Re: Trying this again
If you right click on the right side vertical scroll bar, options such as "bottom" will appear.

I've had that problem ever since the admin upgraded the site to include rotating goggle ads and banner ads.
It's noticeably faster with Firefox with Flash turned off, than with IE.

Re: Trying this again
I have had my options set to got to the most recent post for years. Just remember that references to the "post above" etc. will be backwards as the thread posts in reverse date order.
No problems with loading time but I'm using Firefox to which Dom alluded.

Re: Trying this again
Also just grab the scroll bar and drag it down. It takes about a tenth of a second to hit bottom no matter how many replies there are

Same here, once the thread is loaded or open or whatever you call it, there are no issues.

Thread question answered.
Also check out Google's Chrome browser. I've been a Firefox fan for many years and abhor IE. I tried ChromePlus ( www.chromeplus.org) and never looked back. It is now my default browser. Very fast page loads, clean interface. Takes a bit to get use to it but worth it IMHO.

You'll mis a lot of good stuff doing it that way. Press your "home" key on the keybd when you are in a thread. Then click on the "New Post" at the top of the page. I don't depend on the summarys that are sent to my email, just keep up by doing this.

And here I always thought the summary email included all the new posts since it was last sent out. I think I'll visit as you suggest, thanks.

Re: Trying this again
There are also keyboard shortcuts you can use. For instance, I'm on a Mac and I hit "command" and the down arrow key and it takes me to the bottom of the page. I think on a PC if you hit "control" and the down arrow key it'll take you straight to the bottom. It's a quick way to get to the bottom of the page when it's very long.
