Re: The Great Escape
Nick,

This story would make a great weekly TV series don't you think?

A bunch of prisoners plotting escape in a NAZI camp. Nah, it would never work.

Re: The Great Escape
Yeah, you're right Rick. The TV execs would never go for that idea.

Re: The Great Escape
After going through the map and reading this its makes you wonder how did they explain the dirty clothes they must have occured doing this.

Also how and where did they hide all this dirt. Even bagging it would only displace the area they dug out to hide the dirt in.

How did they explain also where all those bed boards were going?

They must have had some big bumbling bubba type NAZI guard they could take advantage of to have pulled this off.

Bet the prison warden was not so bright either.

I'm still seeing a great story for a series on the TV.

Re: The Great Escape
Rick,

I think clean clothes for a POW would be harder to explain.

The camp was 60 acres, 3 tunnels Tom,Dick.Harry, 2Foot SQ.

Some say 10,000 POW's(disputed as to actual number) 20 bed boards per bunk.

Camp was built on sandy soil with subterranean microphones(they found Tom & Dick)

Allied Airman POW Camp controlled by German Air force. Luftwaffe Officers were not know to be bundling.

TV? Just don't expect anything other than TV fiction.
