InspectionWorld Show
I was just wondering how many home inspectors out here are planning on attending the InspectionWorld show this year in Ne Orleans. I know times are tough out there and I have a feeling that attendance may be low this year because of it.

Re: InspectionWorld Show
Jeff,

I kinda raised this point on the ASHI forum but they're showing their best poker face and claiming there are no concerns for turnout. I finally went to IW this year (2007) and really enjoyed it - the serious inspectors are those who spend this kind of money. Would have liked to have gone this year but can't financially justify it.

Re: InspectionWorld Show
Inspection World comes at the wrong time of the year for me. After putting out money for E/O insurance and Christmas gifts in December, their's not much money left over for trips.

I did go in 2007 and met a lot of great people and learned a ton of information from the educational classes. I suspect that I will only do this every three or four years due to the cost factor.

Re: InspectionWorld Show
I'm headed down. Unlike previous locations I can drive there, plus I have a good friend who said I could stay with him. In fact, he said he'd even chauffeur me to and from the site!

Re: InspectionWorld Show
I will be at InspectionWorld New Orleans | January 16-19, 2008 I need the hours for my state licenses.

Everyone is asking if attendance will be down this year? I'm sure it will be down just like it was down for the Kaplan/ITA show in Vegas. Times are tough for many inspectors around the country, but if you need the hours this is a good way to get them. I have heard through the inspector grapevine that CREIA has just canceled their show for next year (possible reschedule if things pick up) so everyone is feeling the crunch.

Personally I would kind of like a smaller crowd, over the past few years the rooms have been packed and overflowing

InspecitionWorld is already committed for the next two years. 2009 will be in Orlando and 2010 will be in Las Vegas. Events like this need to be planned well in advance.

To help cut cost I would suggest sharing a room, also many hotels under $100 a night are within walking distance. Another idea is to contact the casino (I think it is Harrah's) and see if they have any specials with the local hotels. I'm staying at the Wyndham across the street.

Re: InspectionWorld Show
fwiw.... if you've never been to a national event it's a great experience. It's very eye opening to just hear/learn things on a national level. I attended the Kaplan Las Vegas show a year ago and can't wait to get back.
