checking air temp. for a/c operations
When checking the air temp. on a a/c , would you get a more accurate temp. using the old bulb type themoter, or using these new type laser ones , I would think the old one measuring air temp. would be the most accurate, any feedback from the a/c men.

Use a probe type meter, not the IR. The IR will give you wrong readings. Since it is going to measure the temp of the sheetmetal or whatever instead of the air.

After 10 minutes or so, the sheet metal register should be the same (or nearly) as the air from the register. The IR will work just fine. I see AC guys using them all the time.
