flooding homes
I know three recent incidents where homes were flooded, by different water lines breaking, are they any device on the market that will cut the water off in case of such an emergency, I usually turn mine off at the main valve if im going to leave the house for more than a day or two.

There are, here is one WaterCop Water Monitor and automatic Shut-Off flood prevention
There are also hoses for washing machines that shut off if they burst that are cheap (home depot).
