crawl humidifier
This 77 year old house has hot water heat with radiators. Imagine my surprise when I entered the crawlspace and found this humidifier. The sellers, who I was doing the inspection for, didn't even know it was there. It was still connected to a cold water line.
What a weird place to install a humidifier!? There was a perfectly good basement where they could have put it. This location pretty much guaranteed it wouldn't be maintained, and that it would be using nasty crawl air!
And, yes, I wrote up the asbestos pipe insulation.

Re: crawl humidifier
John,
Don't you mean that you reported on
"the possible presence of asbestos in the insulation on the water pipes located in the crawl space. Positive identification of any asbestos in the insulating material requires a laboratory analysis which, unless otherwise specified in the agreement, is outside the scope of this home inspection."
