Plastic exhaust vent
Saw this great example of what happens to the Ultravent exhuast piping.
This one for a 15 year old condensing boiler,Weil McLain Gold. This was on top of the pipe well above my head. Not easy to find.
I didn't think there was too much of this stuff left out there.

That is nasty. Thanks, Neal, for yet another reason to never assume and make liberal use of that telescoping mirror.

Re: Plastic exhaust vent
I ran across some Electrical conduit used as a vent system but it looked in good condition. This is the information on the pipe:
National pipe 2" Sch. 40 gray rigid PVC conduit
Can this stuff be used???

Re: Plastic exhaust vent
Jon,
I think not but the best way to approach this is to check with the manufacturer and see what they require. This is pretty easy to do on the internet. This way its not just your opinion but fact that it was not installed to spec.
Last week I had a plumber tell me white sched. 40 was OK for both hot and cold residential supply. When I ask him if he could put that in a letter for my report, he back off saying "I don't do letters"
