Does is look 25 years old?

If so, that "84" at the beginning may be the year.

Does it look about 10 years old?

    I think the 3rd & 4th numbers are for year, the 5th letter is for Month (A=Jan, B=Feb, C=Mar,....).
00G = 2000 July. Please call Armstrong 1-800-448-5872 to confirm.

    Daniel,

That's where I got the 10 year old guess from, the second two digits.

Wasn't sure how they did their date codes, but if it was "pretty old" it may have been 1984, otherwise if "not real old" 2000.

#84 is the plant where it was manufactured, #00 is the year (2000) and G is the month (July). At least that is what I have.

If it was me, I would be sure to tell my client that the unit is older and has basically reached the end of it expected life. In our area, units of this age should not be expected to last much longer. If this is a package unit, I give them about 8-10 years of life in our area.
