    Default Help with Boiler age

I could not find a manufacturers plate anywhere on or inside of this Amercian Standard Boiler today. Can anyone of the veterans give me a guesstimate of it's age based on it's looks.

    Thanks.

Was there a service tag on it? If there was, I would give the service company a call and ask them.

The boiler's probably from the early 80's or even late 70's. Was there a date stamped on the gas valve, expansion tank or relief valve? Were the installation instructions around anywhere. Lots of other ways to determine the age of the boiler.

No service tag, or installation instructions, nothing on the expansion tank. I did not know/think to check for a date stamped on the gas valve...although in this case the gas valve appeared to be newer than the unit itself....thanks for that tip I'll use it in the future.

Best guess would be between 1967 and 1975, since the name plate says "American STANDARD".

Check the Beacon Boiler Book references, Follow the two edition Links on this page:

I would say mid 70's based on color.

I thought that would be Harvest Gold, Avocado Green, or Orange.
