Default Appliance connector inside furnace cabinet

I have already recommended a heating contractor due to other issues, but have never run into this. Is it OK to have the flex connector inside the furnace cabinet? I know the connector shouldn't pass through the cabinet side. This doesn't look like a good idea as the burners are close.

Hmmm, no opinions? That's a first.

I am pretty sure that they cannot be installed in a concealed location and although easily accessible, when the furnace front is installed it would be concealed.
