    Default Magic Heat

Found this on an inspection yesterday attached to oil fired boiler vent installed before the barometric damper. The Boiler is approx. 40 years old. The Magis Heat unit runs on 110v. Has any one ever seen this before?

Ive not seen that exact unit before but it appears to be a secondary heat exchanger that captures some of the flue gas heat and delivers it to the space. As long as it does not take too much heat out of the flue gas it should not cause a condensation problem within the flue.

I presume the 110v runs a small fan in the unit?
