Vent clearance, etc.
What was the consensus a while back about having an elbow in the vent right above the draft hood? What do you think of the 4 inch clearances from the elbows to the ceiling. Has anyone ever seen a square manifold like this? It does not look like an "approved" factory fitting to me.

Re: Vent clearance, etc.
Tight space. Nevertheless, it seems a wye would be required there. Combustion gases will not vent correctly.

Re: Vent clearance, etc.
unlisted venting through the ceiling. Not enough clearance on single walled pipe. Too danged tall! Cute manifold box.

Need 6" off pipe. What does mfr state about clearance off top WH? Is that single walled pipe through the ceiling of B-vent with just an inverted storm collar?

Looks like some one forgot the 18 inch clearance in the garage and the fix was just as dangerous.

No Required 12" vertical rise off the water heater & Draft Hood appears to have been modified ( making it unlisted. )
