Size of condenser
Need help with a condenser size.
Lennox condenser Model# HS25-511-1P Mfg 1993. Is this a 2 Ton unit? The size of the cabinet is as big a most 5 ton units.

Thanks
Jim

Re: Size of condenser
Jim,

Are you sure that was a 25 and not 26?

I suspect, but do not know, Chris, that it's a matter of economics. Why build seven housings when one or two might suffice? As well, just like babies, we adults will always translate bigger and shinier into better.

Re: Size of condenser
Older lennox condensers used this numbering system.
Model#:
211 1.5 ton
261 2 ton
311 2.5 ton
411 3 ton
461 3.5 ton
511 4 ton
651 5 ton

The max breaker size rating for the condenser was probably 40 amp; that would also help narrow the size.
