20 Years of inspector education celebrated in Las Vegas

October 2013 will be a milestone in the history of the Home Inspection Profession. The 20th anniversary of the Inspection Event of the Year created by Kevin O’Malley and Michael Casey will take place in Las Vegas. This conference started as an all class reunion for inspection students attending Casey & O’Malley’s home inspection classes. Through the past 20 years the event grew to be one of the premier education events for inspectors with hundreds of attendees each year. Details of events are posted each year at: 2013 Atlantic City Inspection Conference.

Throughout the years the company name has changed from Inspection Training Associates (ITA) to Kaplan Professional Schools to Casey O’Malley Associates (COA) but the two principals behind the scenes that make it all possible have stayed the same. In 2007 Casey and OMalley brought on Brian Hannigan of InspectionNews to help host the conferences.

All three are well known and respected experts in the home and commercial inspection industry and provide a vital education service that is mandatory for state and national inspection associations as well as state licensing agencies. Each association and many states require that the inspectors obtain Continuing Educational Credits/Units (CEC/CEU) in order to fulfill their membership or licensing obligations. This ultimately helps to protect the consumer knowing that their inspector has the education necessary to perform his/her job.

Each of the conferences in the past 19 years have been special in their own way but COA/IN says that the 20th Anniversary Conference will be an incredible event that no inspector should miss.

One of the trade marks for the past conferences has been “Fun!”. The main purpose of the conference is education but they have a lot of fun in the process. Some of the past event activities have included Water Parks, Fireworks, Shows, Poker Tournaments, Race Cars and more. The 20th Anniversary conference promises to be packed with technical and business education, a large exhibit hall full of vendors and a special “fun” event that will be unforgettable.
