Funny Pics
Every once in awhile you get a funny picture going through a house.... this was priceless.
A paper sack next to a furnace vent pipe.... bad idea, right? Look what's inside....

For any of you following the "Infant killed" thread, these are some of those "terrible accidents" waiting to happen.
Somebody posted one of my favorites on here a while back, but I couldn't find it. Someone had installed the shower's light switch inside the shower.

Re: Funny Pics
Rick, you may be from Texas, but you're sure not a cowboy. Cows or bulls (steers) can have horns. Now, a steer definitely cannot have utters, that is a fact. Some breeds no longer have horns at all anymore, because of the breeding.
I grew up in PA, but spent many an afternoon making steers out of young bulls (and destroying their stud farm dreams at the same time). I also spent some time cutting horns off of cows, which was not a pretty picture at all. Lots of blood in that scenario.

Re: Funny Pics
Jim,
When was the last time you seen a full grown dairy cow with horns?
Never for me.
By the way, I never claimed to be a cowboy but I did once ride a bull the full 8 seconds at a Junior rodeo in Mesquite when I was 14. Did it on a dare.
Won myself a belt buckle the size of a wheel cover.

I was "fixin" to say that van, wood-burning, non-forced air heater was redneck to the hilt and that you would never EVER see anything like that around here (in Texas). Then I saw where the post was from.....uh....Texas.
Well you wouldn't see that in my county. uh...actually...you probably would...
Never mind. I've gotta go stoke the Dodge.

Barry,
I think we need to team up. We're inspecting the same houses right in behind one another.
Look familiar? Were you on Glenbrook Dr. with that shot of the water heater.
I was for sure my client went through buying that home. Guess she changed her mind.

Re: Funny Pics
Rick,
Years ago there were some factory units that used the same principle.
Although, your picture shows a unit headed for an early grave due to corrosion, the principle of evaporative cooling is valid.
I have on a few "do or die" occasions kept commercial refrigeration going during hot weather when waiting for replacement parts.

Re: Funny Pics
This is only funny due to the facts
Agents glossy glorified multi page listing brochure and previous in$pection report$ said this is imported slate.
I guess noone ever broke out the ladder.
I guess when the markets get soft *resort to boldface lying* oh that's right any market will do
Even this Majestic Slate by EcoStar Carlisle was not enough to impress the buyer. I had 21 photos and 2 pages of the poor shingle install alone.

Re: Funny Pics
I took these the other day. The seller was quick to point out that he had installed new gutters on the addition/barn. Maybe he thought I wouldn't see the gaping holes in the roof? On a lighter note, the gutters were in great shape! It was almost as if water had never made it to the gutter.

Re: Funny Pics
OK, I've got to tell you my Grove story. Actually I've got 2.
1. sunday school party in Tyler: people are talking about grapplin (catfishing barehanded), a video is shown about it, we all laugh, I make some comment about grovites .... One of the visitors is from the Grove. She doesn't laugh. My wife kicks me.
2. I'm a fireman in Dallas. I work near the high five. We have a fire in a one-story 1600sf older home. As I run into the kitchen where the fire is, I see above the bookshelves two framed pictures (both equal in size and mounted equally in height).
One is of Jesus. The other is of Dale Earnhardt.
The Grove is everywhere.
