Excess notch?
I can't find my notching/boring cheat sheet. Can someone tell me if this is too much?
Nothing like making things harder than they have to be. This is a dryer vent!

Re: Excess notch?
This appears over 1/3 of the depth so yes it's over the allowed depth .

Re: Excess notch?
I thought notching limitation was no more than 1/6th the depth. Either way, that installer went well beyond the limit.

Re: Excess notch?
That's not a 'notch', that's where they went to lunch and just forgot to finish cutting it when they got back from lunch.

Re: Excess notch?
I should have stressed my sarcasm more in the OP..... 1/3, 1/6, 7/8 .... whatever..... that one is waaaaay "over done". It's just so funny that it's a dryer vent. When it's a drain/waste line it's of course still wrong but at least I can understand it since the installer was trying to maintain a certain line.
A dryer vent? That's just plain ridiculous.
