Waterbed Heater Close Call
Anyone that has ever owned a waterbed knows that you must unplug the waterbed heater before you drain the mattress. If the heater operates without a sufficient heat sink (e.g., adequate water in the mattress) it will overheat and can damage your mattress.
This homeowner is lucky he didn't burn down his house. But he will need to replace the carpet and buy a new waterbed heater.
