Need some ideas for radio show
I guest on a local radio show a few times a year. Usually we talk about the weird things found on home inspections. This next show is going to be geared as more of a PSA regarding home safety during the Christmas season.
I already have a pretty good list of topics, but could always use more. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Jack
Home safety starts with home security. Home break ins increase during the holiday season.
1. Presents under the tree displayed in the front living room window.
2. Bad exterior lighting, or no exterior lighting at night.
3. Travel plans announced on social media.
4. Driveway not cleared of snow.
5. Mail/newspapers not collected.
6. Same exterior lights burning 24 hours a day.
7. Boxes put out to garbage from presents are an indication of whats inside the home.
8. Bushes hinder view of street, doors, windows.
9. If the house is vacant during holidays, have the house checked daily.
10. Don't leave your telephone answering system with a message for callers telling them to leave a message because you are away.
11. During holidays when a home is broken into the smaller boxed presents tend to be taken rather than large ones as smaller boxes can indicate more value inside such as jewelry, watches, coins... envelopes under the tree might mean $$$.
12. Don't leave door keys under front mats or flower pots for example.
13. Leave your contact info with a reliable neighbour, or the person checking in on your home.
On another note of home safety; making sure smoke and CO detectors are functional.
