I would actually consider doing such if it weren't for the 150 degree roof-tops in Texas.

If only we could figure out how to install a/c "ON" the roof...

That's what good about basements. Usually pretty nice temps without a/c (in summer), and In a lot of cases considered "mens room" so no one vertures down the stairs (at least not into the "workshop area".

Hit the button to the table saw or router a few times and that will keep most intruders out for a while. My workshop is about 15x65 so I have plenty of room to hide.

I guess I need to count my blessings again. My wife is a bigger sports fan than I am, Nascar, football, basketball, you name it. Maybe that is why she has kept me around for 31 years this July. Now if I could just get her to turn off IDOL and the Dancing shows!
