Tax collectors
Hello one and all!
How disgraceful that I have to make my first post about...TAXES!
NC is getting ready to slap a 6 per cent sales tax on home inspection services(among other services).
I was wondering, what other states collect sales tax on services?

Re: Tax collectors
Marion,
Do you have any more information that you can share about the proposed tax?

NC is broke and looking for new income sources since they don't have a clue on how to reduce expenses.

Re: Tax collectors
Florida had a services tax for a few years quite some time ago, too many businesses complained (they are also the biggest donors to the campaign funds) that the tax was repealed ... hmmm ... wonder why.
Florida also does not have a state income tax, and a services tax has been discussed again, but with the economy down, why make it harder on businesses to get work by adding another 6% to the bill? Last I recall it was dead again this year, but who knows with the state needing money as they do.
