Is it Kevin or is it Pam?

If your going to be inspecting pools, I recommend that you be a NSPF Certified Inspector which requires some classroom training.

Just to have some run of the mill checklist in your hand is not the route to go.

Anyone inspecting pools should have enough knowledge of a pool without needing a "check list".

I have found the very best check list for pool inspections in the Great State of Texas, where pool contractors are not required to be licensed, is a list of competent pool builders who perform pool inspections.

Thanks for the advise! Kevin has taken several courses and also have gone on quite a few inspection with our current pool inspector. I wanted to create a list to have on our rapid remarks for our inspection report. Just to make my life a little easier!

Pam, Welcome to the board! There was a thread about this subject a few weeks ago. The regulations posted are for Texas and Public pools; however there is some good information in the thread. Here is a link to that thread.

Be sure to do an overnight pipe pressure test if they will pay for it. This will test the pipes for any leaks in a 24 hour period. Also shut down the pool for 24 hours to see if the water level drops.
Faulty equipment is easier to inspect and service compared to an underground leak somewhere.
This is a bit more extreme but more thorough. A visual inspection over an hours time won't give these answers.
I was in Texas 10 years doing this........
