Hello, Need your opinion...
My husband & I just built a new house.(on a slab) Construction was started in May 2011. We moved in Nov. 2011. this month Feb we have noticed an unusual odor. Not bad or pleasant. who would we hire to check this out? Lewisburg, TN. 37091

Well, you could contact an industrial hygienist to do some air sampling.

New homes have all kinds of odors from off-gassing carpet, VOCs from paint, stains, etc. They eventually go away, but these odors could have masked what has been in the air all along.

What sort of odour? Sewage odour, sulphur odour, burn't odour, mildew odour, chemical..... too many unknowns.

Since we have had such a mild winter it could be related to the heating system directly or indirectly.
Has the odor seemed to progressively increase in Dec, Jan and Feb ?
