Good afternoon. I am a new member with a question. We had our home built with underground plumbing beneath our basement concrete floor with the understanding that I would install tub, toilet and vanity at a later date. The drain pipe for the tub protrudes from the floor. Will I have to cut through the concrete to instal the p-trap or assume it is already there?

Can you see water sitting in the bottom of the pipe when you look down it? If so that would indicate there is a trap installed. If no water can be seen, pour several cups down and then check to see if there is water remaining.
