New member in Wayne County Michigan
Hi everybody,
I am a first-time homeowner trying to understand the ins and outs of owning and maintaining a 1951 brick veneer bungalow with a block walls in the basement. Anyone else like me out there?

Re: New member in Wayne County Michigan
I'm across the border in Windsor ON; consider that block foundation walls are fairly common in this area in that time period. I also suggest that you consider controlling basement humidity with a de-humidifier in the warmer weather to reduce the build-up of moisture which can lead to mold and mustiness.
Have you checked the foundations for any visible cracks? Cracks can potentially lead to water entry.
Anyways - good luck with your new home.
