Re: New to Gp. Inspector Ed
Welcome Ed. One of my best friends from college lives in Summerville. I may be visiting there one of these days. I'll be sure to look you up if I do. It's just slow, but we're heading into the busiest time of the year, so keep working on it. Network as much as you can, it will slowly pay off.

Ed:
I, too, built my own web site.
The first thing I noticed about yours were the mis-spellings. You should use a spell check. Even then, there's no guarantee that it will pick up every mis-spelled word. For instance "me two", "me too", and "me to" would all be accepted by spell check, although, depending on usage two of those would be wrong.
The reason I bring up spelling and grammar is the fact that your clients are assuming that they are hiring an educated professional and, once they start seeing a series of minor spelling mistakes, they start to wonder about professionalism.
Another thing you might want to look at is your web sites SEO (Search Engine Optimization) this is what search engines look for when they index web sites for placement in search results.
An excellent book to read (and easy to understand) is " SEO for Dummies) Amazon.com: Search Engine Optimization for Dummies: Peter Kent: Books As low as $9.95 used. Worth its weight in gold.
Best of luck.

Re: New to Gp. Inspector Ed
Ed,
Spending money on advertising works well. However, the most effective method of creating business is developing personal relationships with real estate agents. This is by no means the easiest or most enjoyable task, but it is very effective. Also, if you spent $3000 on adveritising you may want to check out a professional web site. Prices are very reasonalbe, $500 or so. Lastely, if you are in a competitive market, like myself, it helps to offer something the others do not have. Buying a thermal camera is a great investment and allows you to provide a service most inspectors don't offer. Good luck and go into some real estate offices and charm the ladies
