hello from another newcomer
I'm looking forward to working in this field. The most
problematic aspect for me is putting together a working
check-list. It seems that everyone has their own style
and methodology. I'm sure that many of you understand
that this can be overwhelming at first. Chris Bittner

Re: hello from another newcomer
The most problematic is getting work, Its a tight market and the New comers have a hard roe to hoe. Takes a couple of years to start making any money.

Re: hello from another newcomer
Say Chris. you will be fine. There is a book.
How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling: by Frank Bettger.
Get this little book. if you want to make it in this market this is a must read.
This book is not just another how to book. In it is the information that will teach you things about your self and other people. One point i got from this book is this. you may think you are selling home inspection but what you are doing is finding out what a buyer needs and providing it. yes you are doing home inspection. but you are doing more then that. you say what is the more then that. Find out what is important to the buyer.
How about i can get the inspection done today and have the report to you the next day. if he has a small shop he wants to set up in the garage. You have all the information on Electrical systems and can advise him. in my 30 years of inspecting its things like that. That have set me apart from other inspectors. I found out what his needs were first then i got the information that was very important to him. works evertime.
Its just a little paperback book but the information in it will set you apart form others.
Best
Ron

Chris, you are in a licensed state so start with your states requirements and then build from that point. Brian has several good software vendors on this site that make the process fairly easy for a new person.
It takes years to reach a comfort level in this profession, I'm almost to that point!
