Henry,

That link to the message board, The Best of the Best is a sad site.

Where is all the best?

Looks like a couple members there. Whats the cost of that title and where can I send a check.

Henry,

I just find it rude of yourself to come on another message board and start tooting your own horn with the intention of bringing members to your own site.

Take it for what its worth.

Rick

Henry,

C'mon now.

I just brought up the fact that you come on here as a new member supposedly but you throw in a link to your site and immediately the CMI starts getting thrown around.

If you wasn't behind the CMI program or wasn't receiving funds from anyone obtaining the CMI I wouldn't be having this discussion with you.

Do you not collect the membership fees and the prices for the stickers and such?

I and probably others on here who have known Brian for awhile and the hard work he had done on this board find it unfair of you to come on here and start up or trying to promote another site which I believe may have intentions of being profitable to yourself.

Am I wrong?

I am not new to this MB. I havent been on it in a couple years and i didnt remember my old log in. so i registered again.
As far as CMI no i am not paid by CMI. I am a CMI and a MBI . But i receive no funds from them.
The message board is mine personally and i receive no funds for it ether. If you dont be leave that do a whos search on the domain name.
The stickers yes i do sell those every one was looking for them so i went out and had them made and i sell them i make a buck on each one. at that price i dont think it would pay for my site.
The site is available to all at no charge i even have sections for all associations to have private conversations if they like. and its out of my own pocket.
So yes you are wrong.

An the only reason i posted in the first place is to get rid of the stupid you have not posted sign. So have a good one im done with this subject

I can confirm that Henry provides CMI and other associations use of his forum, at no charge. He is not paid anything from CMI.

Henry is a hard working inspector and helps a lot of people.

What are you up to John. He doesnt matter. he went to the MB and just read what he wonted to read. He couldn't figure out that it is to help new inspectors. Too bad he might have been able to help someone to stay out of trouble in the field.

Re: New Member
Henry,

I went to your message board and basically found no threads or really any real number of folks posting anything. Thats what my comment of being sad was originally about. Looked like you were phishing for members.

You mention that the board was to help new members or people entering the field of Home Inspection.

I quess that is where my problem begins with your whole CMI group.

How can such a organization pass out such certifications and truly not know someones skills or expertise, yet obtain the title CERTIFIED MASTER INSPECTOR

It seems so easy for one to obtain with the ease of sending in the bucks.

Question is from me is who is benefiting from those dollars? Its says your a non-profit organization. Where is all that money going? Even yourself said you might make a buck off those stickers. Thats considered a profit.

By the way, I have helped many new inspectors along the way. I have spent many hours with newbies tagging along, helped with there writing reports late at night by personal email and even gave some my own personal computer generated reports with thousands of comments I've generated myself over the years to help make it easier for them to use. So, don't go there with me.

Well after 2-3 weeks of starting a MB your not going to have a lot of posts. 200 + ain't bad

As far as CMI I dont set the requirements I wish they were higher but i have nothing to say in the matter. But i have more then enough qualifications to qualify so i got both CMI and MBI.

As far as where the money goes i have no idea
As far as the stickers those are made by my company and that goes to my company.

as far as you helping inspectors I dont really care what you do. a little touchy when someone questions you back.

People, here, don't like it when folks suggest that they view information that is not contained here. It is a lot like the old Soviet Union where any information coming into their realm that shows that they are not as elite as they make themselves believe that they are on these pages is instantly rejected.

Funny...but sad.

At any rate, welcome Henry.

Re: New Member
Henry sent me a personal e-mail asking about the link to another inspection message board in his signature.

I was very thankful of that since I had not seen this thread before.

Basically my reply was

Quote:
...Since InspectionNews is a business for me (my source of income) the promotion/linking to other independent message boards is not something that I like to see. I spend a great deal of money every year attending shows across the country and taking out ads to promote InspectionNews and educate inspectors as to what InspectionNews is and where InspectionNews can be found. To let the board be used to direct people to other inspection message boards does not make sense. I'm sure you understand.
Since it had never really been an issue before I will be including a line in the Message Board Rules so that everything is clear.

Thank you Henry for understanding and welcome back to InspectionNews.
