ICC Training
Hey Guys hope your inspection business is going well. I was looking to see if anyone has done the building code inspector training certification from ICC and what you thought? Was it beneficial to you? The reason I ask is I have been in inspections for a little while now and always love to keep learning and sometimes dont feel I know enough about codes and would like to extend my knowledge further. On top of that if I get certified through ICC I can take our states test to become a licensed building inspector which would always be neat since I already help our city out with numerous things. Please let me know what you think and what you feel you need to do to prepare if I do attempt it. Also does anyone know if you can take it online? Thanks again everyone!

I can't tell you about ICC's training program, but as a long time ICC combination residential dwelling inspector I can assure you that being familiar with the building codes is vital knowledge for all home inspectors plus it gives one a leg up in case they want to become a jurisdictional inspector, construction consultant and/or do expert witness work in construction litigation. In other words it’s a win-win deal for the serious professional.
