Just wondered how many of you are planning to attend Inspection World 2008 in New Orleans next January?

I plan on being there and would like to "put a face to the name" with my friends here at InspectionNews.

I know some of you may be wondering why I'm mentioning it in April, when it's 9 - 10 months away? First, it's planning, second it's budgeting.

A lot of us find ourselves in need of continuing education late in the year and can't afford to go to the conferences offered. Now is a perfect time to start putting some cash away for January. It doesn't hurt as much when spread over a longer period of time, and since we are getting into the busy season, the cash flow is a lot better than in November.

Hope to see many of you there. I know I have many adult beverages to buy, and a few to collect on.

I just went to the ASHI site, and don't see any new info. Inspection World will be in New Orleans, and I am looking forward to it. I thought that Inspection World 2007 was great, and felt it was worth the money. I will note, however, that I thought the hotel prices at Disneyland were outrageous and chose to stay at another hotel a couple of blocks away. It cost me just about half of what it would have cost to stay on site, and the room was great. I will not hesitate to do the same next year if the prices are too high. As was already mentioned, this can be a budget issue, and I did not want to be budgeted out of the trip by the hotel rates. Look around at other rates if you choose to go.

The Inspection World information is usually posted in September. I do know that the conference hotel will be the New Orleans Hilton Riverwalk.
