AHIT school advertising
“I always try to get my sellers to do an inspection up-front to help make the property more marketable, but half the time it seems like me and every other realtor in my office are scrambling to get our inspections done. You’d think in a big area like Dallas there would be tons of inspectors, but we have to wait at least a week, sometimes two.”
-Kevin S. Dallas, TX

I just got this notice from AHIT! There is a shortage of inspectors in the Dallas area! Why didn't someone tell me?!

and it is not just Dallas!

“We have two guys in the area that do inspections. Only one of them is any good and he’s booked up two to three weeks in advance. Even the guy who’s not that good is booked up for a week in advance! It’s crazy right now. We’ve had deals fall through sometimes because it’s taking so long to get inspections done. We need about five more GOOD inspectors in this area!”
-Susan S. Indianapolis, IN “As a mortgage broker, my loan officers need inspections to be completed within 10 days of the initial offer. Right now only about half of these are being done in time. I’ve got another office in Minneapolis and the same thing is happening there. I don’t know if there used to be more inspectors or what, but I know we need more down here. That’s for sure.”
-Jeff B. Richmond, VA

Oh, wait, these guys only get paid if someone pays the tuition, it does not mean there really is a need for what they are peddling.
Too bad the guys lined up to pay their money get this crap and most won't bother to check it out.
I use AHIT inspection software... but I think that may change...

Re: AHIT school advertising
Its sad that these HI schools stoop to such tactics to pull people into their doors.

They (Real Estate schools) couldn't care less about the real estate market or the people who have went through their schools.

They are just another business seeking a way to keep the money coming in playing with the minds of people seeking a way to make a living in this economy.

They will lie to anyone to get them to enroll promising them sucess.

Businesses lying so they can get more folks to take their home inspection courses and then pay dues to them. Oh my.

I just can't believe that for one second.

The inspector I emailed yesterday sent me back an email telling me of his woes about having to let a girl go that he had inspecting for him and she made life so bad for him and that's why he had to lower his prices.

"I just new you would understand if I told you the circumstances"

The crap that comes out of peoples mouths sometime.

That AHIT add is the thing I have seen over the years that makes me sick. No one just wants to market on their own merits. There always has to be a con. There is not one organization that is any different. There is not one school that is any different.

"Join the Navy. Travel the world" it is so glorious.

Re: AHIT school advertising
I got that same email from AHIT a few days ago and I was wondering what some of the dallas folk would think about it. Now I know!

Anyway, I am a recent grad of AHIT and I am smart enough to realize that in a down market like this, Im not gonna be making money hand over fist! Most common sense folks will realize this. Especially someone that is just getting started like me!

And advertisers do this crap all the time. Ill bet you see or hear an advertisement everyday about a product or service that doesnt perform as well as the ad claims. Its nothing new. When I see commercials for hot pockets claiming they are nutritious based on the fact that they have small amounts of 5 essential vitamins, I wanna puke! Come on!

Anyway Jim, I wouldnt drop the AHIT software based on the email you received from them, I would drop the AHIT software because its an inferior product!
