Loud gurlging noises - sink/tub drainage

I think gurgling is a sign of air being sucked into the drain which is a good thing. A drain that sits there and does not gurgle is stopped up.

When I hear gurgling, I think improper venting and that the weir is being sucked out of the trap. I recommend that a plumbing contractor should confirm venting or make the necessary corrections/repairs.

Venting issue, call the plumber. A properly venting system should be gurgle-free.
