CSST incident
I just had a gratifying phone call. We inspected a 1 year old 2 million dollar home a while back for a warranty inspection and wrote up the fact that the CSST piping was not properly bonded. The client said the builder acted like it was no big deal and I guess they let it go. Well last week their next door neighbors house was struck by lightning and the pipe ruptured in one of the bedroom walls and caught their house on fire. The owners called to get more info about the CSST and I will bet that the builder is more concerned about it now. I did tell her that bonding will only make it safer and would not necessarily prevent issues with a direct strike, but would still be a good idea. Got to love the timing though. Thankfully, nobody was injured.

Re: CSST incident
That's why I always recommend the EFV valves along with the bonding.
