I have the water heater decoder for serial # for ages but I can not decipher the serial # I have.
Sn. xe34144079
Model MI403s6en12

Any help would be appreciated.

Ooops.. it's either 1981 or 2001... if it looks newer-- probalby 2001. If it looks really old it will be the 1981 model.

In the serial#, the first digit (in this case letter) is the year. The second is the month.

many many thanks for the list. I had an older list that only went to 2000. way back when, I asked a rep for newer lists and he satarted spouting words like "proprietary" and "why do you need to know?"
