Default Water Heater Clerances from Combustible

Does anyone know the typical manufacturer clearances of the burner compartment from combustible material, seems wrong here....

Clearances to combustibles are usually listed on the name/data plate of the water heater. If not there then you can find them in the manufacturers installation guidelines that you can find on-line.

Typically 4" out from the valve, Six inches out from the plate. Remaining pan area 2" out from jacket for air flow even if zero clearance to combustibles. 24" out front unobstructed front for servicing, top of jacket 12" up.

Are you (in NM) allowed to use a six-foot gas appliance connector for a Water Heater in this unprotected high-traffic location? Sediment trap lower than gas valve?

The unit pictured is a sealed combustion chamber. But there needs to be enough clearance to service the heater. That type of heater requires the whole burner Assembly to be removed to just change the thermocouple, and to clean any dust out from the combustion screen inside the heater.
