Thread: schedule 40 pvc used as cold water supply

I know that sch 40 pvc is not allowed now but inspected a 12 year old home with this issue. Should I recommend replacement or what. What is the safety issue, if any.

within dwelling units shall conform to NSF 61 and shall conform
to one of the standards listed in Table P2904.5. All
hot-water-distribution pipe and tubing shall have a minimum

The original post did not say where or how the PVC was being used that's why I asked.
He stated in the title "used as cold water supply".
You can use schedule 40 PVC for water service pipe.

If you see this on the hot water side, its not rated for the temp, write it up
